What’s the difference between accredited and non-accredited courses?
At ACTA we offer both accredited and non-accredited courses to fit into everyone’s needs and budgets.
A non-accredited course has no connection to an external accreditation or professional body that can monitor what content is being delivered.
How does this affect you working in the industry?
At present the cosmetic tattoo industry is not regulated which means you can perform this service without a formal accredited certificate.
If seeking employment, the employer will usually favour an accredited certification as they know what level of training and hours that have been received. Also, if you later wish to train yourself you will need a formal accreditation along with a TAE certificate.
It is the individual’s choice, some wish to start with a short course and see if it’s the industry for them before later attaining a full accreditation. However, bear in mind government regulations change constantly so having a formal accreditation is always more beneficial in the long run.
